Faisal Alam

Owner, Coach

Faisal Alam is the Owner of Catalyst Performance Training. Faisal has a deep passion for helping people reach their full potential, both physically and mentally. Having worked with an extremely diverse population ranging from elite level athletes all the way to the person who has never done a structured strength training program in their life. It doesn't matter where you are on the spectrum as long as you have the desire to improve yourself. Faisal possesses the unique ability to combine his experience in both academics and athletics/training to create highly effective programs for optimal health and performance for clients from wide-ranging backgrounds.  With a passion for the human body/movement and education, Faisal strives to empower his clients with the knowledge and skills they need to continue to improve throughout their lives.

Ryan Maciel

Dietitian, Coach

Ryan is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Precision Nutrition Level 2 Coach (Pn2). Ryan graduated from the Didactic Program in Dietetics at Simmons College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Ryan completed his dietetic internship through the University of New Haven and interned for Precision Nutrition, the world’s largest online private nutrition coaching company.


During his 9 years as Lead Nutrition and Fitness Coach at the Commonwealth Sports Club in Boston, he helped clients make meaningful changes in their lives through habit-based coaching. Ryan practices client-centered coaching and uniquely tailors his coaching program to you and gives you the necessary support and guidance needed for success.   

Ryan is truly passionate about health and fitness. Ryan has volunteered as a head coach with American Scores Boston, led nutrition seminars at the YMCA of Greater Boston, taught adults how to shop for healthy, low-cost foods through Cooking Matters Nutrition, and developed and instructed nutrition classes for preschool and elementary children at Head Start. Ryan is dedicated to improving people’s health and well-being.

Danny Borrero


Before starting out in the performance and fitness industry, Danny worked as a certified athletic trainer serving several Boston area schools with their athletic programs and sports teams. The primary responsibilities Danny had as an athletic trainer were emergency care and coverage for practices and games, rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries, and educating student-athletes on health and wellness activities. 


With a passion for movement and the weight room, Danny spent 10-months as an intern at world-renowned Mike Boyle’s Strength and Conditioning and Cressey Sports Performance. Whether it was the average person or a professional athlete, these facilities provided functional activities and sound programming for all types of clients no matter their training background. 


Danny truly believes that quality movement and strength training will lead to a more resilient and healthy body. He uses his experience and skills as an athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach to help achieve the client’s goals and educate them on how and why exercise is important. The biggest thing he wants his clients and athletes to know is that they do not have to go through their performance and health journey alone and that he is there to assist them in any way he can.
